Wanted: LEGO Builder {Gadling}

Mar 3rd 2006 3:47PM DISCLAIMER: I live in San Diego, and work closely with Legoland Carlsbad selling tickets to the park (but I'm not directly employed by them).

The thing that amazes me about Legoland is that the appeal of the park only grows the older you get because you begin to appreciate the skill of the builders and underlying mentality of the park more and more. Legoland really adds a modern twist to art appreciation in a very interactive way. And they are on the cutting edge of things they do with the park. The new robocoaster lets you select a custom ride. How cool is that!

I'm pretty lucky in getting to work with these guys. We built out the e-ticketing technology that lets you print your tickets from home, then scan them at the gate, and bypass the lines (and get a discount). It's been nothing but a pleasure conquering the various technical hurdles, and working with Legoland to make it happen.

I have a great appreciation for all the artist-engineers that build things for legoland. Whoever lands this job gets a career that is fun and imaginative. Good luck!

P.S. The site where we sell Legoland tickets is http://www.CaliforniaSunHotels.com . You can book a hotel room there too when you come to visit the park.
