Gadling's Gift Guide: $250 upwards {Gadling}

Dec 14th 2008 7:27PM I'm not surprised to see a fractional jet program on this list, although a gift card to one would make an amazingly generous gift (these ones are rated more highly if anyone is seriously considering it :) - http://3luxe.com/category/Aviation/Fractional_Jet_Ownership). That suitcase is also pretty extravagant - I previously thought Hermes was the pinnacle of luxury when it came to high end luggage, but I suppose the bar is always being raised.

TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Wins Sports Watch of the Year {Luxist}

Nov 25th 2008 9:26PM I think this watch might beat out 3Luxe's top three sport watches (although they are all spectactular - check them here: http://3luxe.com/category/Fashion_Accessories/Sport_Watches) because it has a certain elegance that most sport watches lack. It manages to be both graceful and utilitarian simultaneously, which is an impressive design feat well worth the accolades.

Is There Trouble in Hawaiian Paradise? {Gadling}

Nov 22nd 2008 5:14PM My brother lives in Honolulu and hasn't reported a decrease in tourists, although I have noticed that the cost of flights to the islands is dropping. I'm hoping that some of the amazing luxury places like the Halekulani (check it out: http://3luxe.com/best_ofs/Beach_Vacations/Halekulani) will soon become a little more affordable.

The Bespoke Perfumes of Paris {Luxist}

Nov 22nd 2008 5:02PM Don't forget about Aftelier perfumes - creator Mandy Aftel has crafted custom all-natural fragrances for many celebrities and perfume connisseurs, and her Cognac fragrance was selected as a 3Luxe pick (http://3luxe.com/best_ofs/Women's_Fragrance/Aftelier_Perfumes_Cognac)

Here's a link to her site: http://www.aftelier.com/home.html

Gadling giveaway! The new Traveler's Tool Kit: Mexico and Central America {Gadling}

May 21st 2008 11:15PM Ooh, pick me! I'll even review the book on my own blog.

Las Vegas Guggenheim Heritage To Close {Luxist}

Apr 13th 2008 11:16PM That's too bad, but does anyone really go to Vegas for the art? I would think that the exhibits/works would be better served in another destination, perhaps one that isn't famous for gambling and over-indulgence.

Mutsy Strollers {Luxist}

Apr 13th 2008 11:14PM That does seem kind of steep for a stroller, but you do have to remember that it will be carrying some pretty precious cargo! And compared to some high-end strollers, the $700 or so for the Mutsy is a steal; for instance, the Balmoral stroller goes for almost $3000. Of course, it is amazing - and along with the Bugaboo Frog and the Inglesina Zippy strollers, it made the 3Luxe top three: http://www.3luxe.com/category/Getting_Around/Strollers .

And by the way - the Zippy is only $340, which isn't that bad for a luxe stroller.

Noisy restaurants: yay or nay? {Slashfood}

Apr 13th 2008 7:37PM It depends on the situation - in a trendy place with a popular bar, a reasonable noise is fine (provided it's not all cell phone conversations - some of my favorite places have banned cell phones and I'm a huge fan of that) and I kind of expect it.

Efficient packing for short trips {DIY Life}

Apr 8th 2008 6:42PM Once you find a great carry-on bag (here's a few high-end suggestions: http://www.3luxe.com/category/Luggage/Carry-On) packing and traveling light become so easy - you'll never go back to checked luggage again! For short trips, anyways.

I've used the rolling method shown for a few trips, including a several week backpacking trip - and everything stayed fairly wrinkle-free! It probably helped that I hung up things when I could, but overall that system is solid.

Most Expensive Zip Codes: 60611, Estate of the Day {Luxist}

Apr 7th 2008 8:44PM This is my zip code! My apartment could probably fit into one room of that one though (although I think mine is much cozier).
