Living Apart Together: Separate Spaces Keep These Married Couples Close {AOL Real Estate}

Feb 18th 2013 1:17AM My girlfriend and I have been dating for over seven years, live across town from each other, enjoy each's company several times a week and have our alone time as well. We are both older, and it works for us.

Guns at Home: Do Neighborhoods' Firearms Permits Lower Property Values? {AOL Real Estate}

Guns at Home: Do Neighborhoods' Firearms Permits Lower Property Values? {AOL Real Estate}

Jan 17th 2013 5:24PM Some will say it makes thieves consider other homes for their burglarizing. Others will say it's just about a sure bet the burglar will find something of value in the home - a gun. And if they are pretty sure no one is home it's like they're increasing their chances of a booty several times over.

California woman arrested in nail-painting incident on Southwest flight {Gadling}

Mar 8th 2012 2:11PM Well, nail polish IS a highly flammable liquid. And, if she spills it is she going to pay the several hundreds dollars to replace the damaged seat/floor coverings, etc.?
She should have kept the stuff in her pocketbook.

Sexy New 'iPod of Thermostats' Is Geeky on the Inside {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 28th 2011 10:28PM Well, from the looks of the comments this company didn't fool anyone with this widget. Cute, isn't it? And, what geek cares what it looks like inside? If they - the geeks - care about anything, it's going to be whether it actually does what it's advertised it will do and not be impressed with how it looks. No one with any pride wants someone telling him something won't do what it claims especially after it's already been bought. I believe it won't save energy in 95% of the applications. No way, no how. Tech staff - drop me a line, I'll show you what I'm talking about. Otherwise, draw the line at it's cute features and drop the part about it actually saving money on energy costs.

Sexy New 'iPod of Thermostats' Is Geeky on the Inside {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 28th 2011 10:17PM Wonder how much they paid AOL to post this and make it look like it's the "news" instead of ad bull.

Sexy New 'iPod of Thermostats' Is Geeky on the Inside {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 28th 2011 10:12PM Yeah, it's got cute features, but to say it will pay for itself in a year is bogus. Any time you move a thermostat up and down during the heating season you're wasting money, especially in the case of heat pump with strip heat applications. The strip heat is not nearly as efficient as a heat pump, so when you suddenly call for several more degrees the heat pump is going to switch over to the e-heat the strip is going to heat up and your meter is going to spin itself silly. It's common knowledge that in heat pump applications with strip heat that you keep your hands off the thermostat - set it a specific temperature and LEAVE IT ALONE. I see this little widget actually costing more in energy. It has cute features but draw the line there and get off this claim of it saving money. I invite the tech. staff to prove me wrong.
