Motorola releases new HD set-top DCX700 {Engadget HD}

Oct 29th 2009 4:56PM I think this must be the one my friend got the other day. He came in to work raving about how, small the box, great the picture, and lag-free the channel changing are. Sometimes it's good to work for a cable company.

Hardware requirements revealed for PC Star Wars: The Force Unleashed {Big Download}

Oct 22nd 2009 11:49PM I don't know about World Tour, but GH3 wasn't bad. It ran at 60fps at 1280x720 on my 2GHz C2D laptop with an 8600M GT GPU. That's higher res than the console versions, with inferior hardware.

Splitfish brings the Fragchuck back just in time for Modern Warfare {Joystiq}

Oct 22nd 2009 3:49PM You can only do that for Unreal Tournament 3, and it still requires having a DS3/Sixaxis on hand to navigate the menus.

Yep, and some PC USB controllers will work on the PS3. I use a USB Sega "Saturn" pad for all my SFIV hadoukening on PS3.

Oct 22nd 2009 1:29PM 'Chucks are the new black. I tried the Frag Pro at E3 and decided right then and there that the Wii Nunchuk was one of the greatest ever innovations for FPS gaming. You get the benefits of analog movement in one hand and pair it with a precision controller (mouse, Wiimote, PSWand) in the other for aiming. The Frag Pro is PC compatible, and the build quality is improved over the Frag FX. I hope Splitfish will try marketing it to PC gamers, because 'chucks are so much more comfortable and practical than those keyboard-styled controllers.

Netflix, Best Buy deal brings Watch Instantly streaming to even cheaper Blu-ray players {Engadget}

Oct 20th 2009 11:16PM Probably never, as it requires Microsoft's Silverlight.

God of War III pitched as FPS; struck down {Joystiq}

Oct 2nd 2009 1:02PM The blood pooling on the ground would reflect it.

Review: Gran Turismo (PSP) {Joystiq}

Oct 1st 2009 11:32AM That's my biggest issue with it. If the PSP Go had a second analog stick that I could use for throttle and braking, I might be tempted to get one just for GT.

Super Street Fighter IV confirmed, eight fighters added {Joystiq}

Sep 29th 2009 12:29PM In the age of Rock Band and GTAIV where a game can exist as an ever-expanding platform, things like Lost Planet Colonies and Super Street Fighter IV are expected to be offered as DLC updates. But we are also still in the age of Madden, where droves of people are more than willing to shell out full price for something that's minimally updated annually. If you want to send a message to Capcom, boycott EA Sports.
