Shoes -- Timberland's SMART oxfords

Good travel shoes are one of those things travelers love to debate. Timberlands hold up well to the rigors of a varied trip, when you might be hiking one day and in the city the next. They're waterproof and they look better at dinner than other versatile shoes. If I am in Asia or the Middle East, though, I would swap them for lighter Gortex trail shoes from the North Face. 05/02/09
