Going light, but not going without

I pack light, as a rule, but I do not belong to the ultra-minimalist school of packing -- those travelers who insist on packing one change of clothes, or who go around the world with two tee shirts. I can be minimalist if I want, but I still think you need a little bit more to be comfortable on the road. What follows is what I would pack for a typical one month trip, spending as much time out of cities as in them. I would make few adjustments going between hot and cold climates. 05/02/09
