San Juan Bautista, California (2 of 12)
San Juan Bautista, California
This is the place where the allure of Old California still hangs in the air. Just off of scenic Highway 101 lies the town of San Juan Bautista, It is commonly referred to as the "City of History" on account of the Spanish colonial architecture that can be seen throughout its streets. The town's signature building is the mission church which is built on the last original Spanish plaza in the state. San Juan Bautista also lies on the historic De Anza Trail which the Anza Expedition used to make its way north to San Francisco in the late 1700's.
