Red Wing, Minnesota

Only an hour north of the Twin Cities, Red Wing is the ideal weekend getaway to the Minnesotan countryside. Most notably, the town offers a 19.7 mile paved bike trail which runs parallel to the Cannon River. Red Wing also attracts a fair amount of autumn visitors as it is on of the Top Ten US locations to watch the trees change colors. In the 19th century, the city was a riverfront trading point, welcoming ships transporting wheat, and today Red Wing still manages to maintain that old-timer ambiance.
