Hákarl

Our guide Inga offering local delicacy hákarl, i.e., putrefied shark meat. The meat is dug into ground to decompose for six months in order to get rid of the acid in the flesh. As you may well imagine, the smell is absolutely horrible. Yours truly can also attest that the taste isn't an improvement over the smell. On a beach somewhere on the southern coast of Iceland.
