Cotopaxi National Park sits at the eastern edge of the Andes Mountain Range and is the most visited national park on the mainland of Ecuador. The park features an array of terrains, including humid high mountain forest, rainy sub-Andean plains, and rain Andean tundra. It is also home to Cotopaxi Volcano which, at 19,348 feet high, it is one of the highest volcanoes in the world, if not the highest. Fun fact: For hundreds of years, natives of the area actually worshiped the volcano as a god.
