Videos: bad baggage handlers (or, Remind me again why we pay to check luggage!)
While most baggage handlers are no doubt scrupulous and careful with luggage, every group has its bad apples. Here are some of the worst offenders, making us mutter to ourselves, "Remind me again why we pay to check luggage!"
Watch these baggage handlers see who can get the best backward, over the head shot into containers with luggage and shipped packages.
Start at night - Road trip tip
With any road trip longer than 12 hours, consider beginning the drive at night. This is especially true if you're traveling with young children. The driver should, of course, sleep several hours before leaving, then begin the trip at the children's bedtime. By driving while the children are asleep, you won't need to take as many potty breaks, and the parents can enjoy a good portion of the ride without having to listen to children's movies and songs.
Bonus: you'll arrive at your destination when it's daytime, so you won't feel like a whole day has been wasted in the car.
One outfit, two days - Packing tip
Pack one outfit for every two days of travel. For instance, if you're traveling for seven days, you only need to pack three outfits; you'll actually be wearing a fourth outfit ... that can be worn again.
You may also want to consider choosing to wear (or pack) a jacket that you can use with some of your other outfits, to help give them a "fresh" look.
