The irony is that they've so over-saturated the program by combining the credit card customers and the frequent flyer pool, that at certain United hubs I've found that the normal security line was actually shorter!
Also, a rarely-mentioned caveat of TSA Pre-Check is that "if any leg of an itinerary is international, the passenger will not qualify for TSA Pre-Check for that itinerary and will go through traditional screening." So if you fly mostly international, it's not much help, even for the domestic legs.
