Using HotelTonight is a good move. I used this app once. Excellent rates. It's free so add this to your phone and use it for a last second hotel deals. It gave us a 4 star hotel at a 2 star price.

Another "travel resource" to add?

In 2012, a new "travel search engine" was launched(They have an app too) at BestTravelCoupon.com. They use different search tools then sites like Kayak and Expedia. They'll pull up more hotel and flight options and often beat them on rates.
