Thank you for this lovely post. At first I could not believe that you voluntarily went to Afghanistan and then I felt sad that you (and everybody) has to always have antennae out for situations that might become deadly. However, your recounting of your encounter with the Afghan family in the park made me happy that at least for little moments even Afghans and Americans can let their guard down and enjoy each other.
