when we went to the san diego zoo i was APPALLED to see the lions and tigers in barred cages, just pacing back and forth in frustration. many of the other exhibits were just standard small area, nothing to do for the animals. but there was a great variety of animals--loved the beluga whales.

it's much better to go to the wild animal park. we went before we went to africa on safari and found it to be very much like the real thing.
