There is only one intelligent way to board an aircraft: from the back of the plane forward. That is, if your seat is in the very last row, you should get on first, and if your seat is in the very front, you should get on last.
Anything else is ill-thought out.
There is some level of "classism" going on, since the people who pay the most money are told to board first. This is as stupid an idea as one could have on the matter.
