Well, we "wonderful" human beings have destroyed practically every habitat in which animals have lived. So, now they are desperate to find a new habitat, to find food and to establish their own territory. And when they resort to their natural animal instincts to survive, - we are simply appalled at their animal ways. And then, of course, our first response is to hunt them down - and kill them. The human race is a shameful species. But, soon this whole "existence thing" will be over and then God can sort it all out. Until then, have some respect for animals.
