My cousin & I travelled to Nova Scotia to research our fathers' family at the provincial archives. Just after crossing over the border from New Brunswick we stopped at a tourism center to collect maps and other information. As we stood outside on the terrace overlooking the rural countryside, our ancestors suddenly seemed very close to us, as we realized they had probably stood on this very spot and looked across more or less the same pleasant landscape many times. Little did we know. We later discovered their home had been located practically on that very spot and the nearby brook still carried the family name.
