TSA Officers Fired After Stealing From Passengers
Have you ever arrived at your destination to find items missing from your suitcase and thought, "I wonder how that happened?" It turns out, you may have been a victim of TSA theft.
ABC News, as seen in the clip above, conducted an investigation into the security of airport screening stations. New figures show that 381 TSA officers have been fired after stealing from passengers and their luggage. The investigation tracked checked bags with iPads and cash, and also went through security checkpoints with these items in carry-on luggage.
In nine of ten cases, the items made it to their destination safely. But in Orlando, an iPad left behind ended up in the hands of a security officer. Using a device-tracking app on the iPad, investigators traced the iPad to the home of the security officer last seen with the device. After denying that he stole the item, the officer was caught red-handed when the alert for the device was heard from inside his home.
Thankfully, the officer has been terminated. We're sure this will lead to further TSA investigations, but for now, we'd suggest putting valuable items in the safety of your well-guarded carry-on bag.

Not going to happen, Buck. Mr. Obama can't allow the unemployment numbers to jump dramatically at such a critical time in his re-election campaign. (I TRULY hope that there are not as many stupid voters this time around- but am not holding my breath. Not to worry about being called "racist" though, since he's both Black AND White.) He will not fire them for that reason as well as they might not vote for him this time around.
But now you see why the Democrats are pushing so hard to have illegals and convicts be permitted to vote- they'd lose a large part of their voter base if they were stopped.

Janet Napolitano should be the very next firing. And immediately after that, John Pistole. How could these bungling incompetents have screwed this thing up any worse?

Finally i have a similar story a few years back i was coming home from iraq on my home leave and i was taking my belongings with me well i received a gift from a friend, an xbox so when i was headed back to iraq i thought i would bring it with me and so i packed it in my bag and i locked it up with a standard (what i was told at the time approved tsa lock) and when i arrived at my change-over flight my lock was cut and my xbox was stolen and i thought how f^cked up is that it was in my duffle bag and everything and when i went to complain to the airline they claimed, "oh well i'm sorry sir there is nothing i can do for you, if you read our clause it states 'we cover the bag and nothing else within its contents'" and so i said wtf?! that's the stupidest thing i have ever heard. No shame what-so-ever And i accused them of being thieves and asked, "so basically you can steal everybody's shit whenever you want with no repercussions?!" and she responded nonchallantly, "yep." After that day i lost all faith in the system as far as flying goes, good to see somebody doing SOMETHING.

Wow, TPhil. I had a lousy experience too...and it leaves you wondering, WTF? Is THIS what we have to rely on, to put a line between US and Terrorists? People who abuse and steal from us, in the name of Homeland Security??? I am ALL for security and measures to keep us SAFE...but some of the agents at TSA LOOK like the kind of people you'd cross the street to AVOID, NOT enlist to "our side," know what I mean? Creepy, strange and kind of scary characters that wouldn't stand up to "profiling!!"
It's a shame that we-- AMERICANS-- have to resort to accepting inferior, even DEFECTIVE, agents to offer us the protective screening we deserve.
Good luck in your future travels, TPhil.

I can speak personally about TSA and theft. I had designer perfumes and new, expensive lingerie and small things go "gone" and other things destroyed, because of bottles leaking all over my stuff--due to the rifling of my suitcases --and when I contacted TSA-- they blamed the airline. They said--my suitcases had to be rifled on the tarmac. I asked," Well...where's the security, then? They can plant anything out there and who will monitor it?" They said, Well...our job is done." I made a huge complaint out of it, asking in a syndicated newspaper column, "WHO protects US from the agency hired to Protect US?" and eventually, TSA made a "settlement" of about $150 with me, which was just a fraction of the stolen value. They made it clear, THEY don't HAVE to settle with anyone--because they are "Security" and have the support of the government-- so they were doing me a "courtesy" by giving me anything at all.
Nice.
I call it a "license to steal."
That's all!! :-(

Seems many of you posting your justifiable anger are unaware, these agents are like something you step in outdoors and can't get rid of. No matter the airport or carrier, TSA or their equivalent are everywhere, just like poison ivy after making it with your girlfriend on a summer night on the beach by the lake. Yeah, TSA have their rotten apples, so far, my experience has been OK and they've been acceptable. (operative words = so far). Maybe turn around would equate to fair play, you frisk me and I'll do the same for you-jolly good fun. By the way TSA, when you take mature women aside to invade their privacy running your hands all over their inner thighs, buns, and tit's- that stuff should be done in complete privacy with another TSA agent present-though I'm a senior guy seeing this go on is unacceptable. (of course I look away, but on more than one occasion it was ongoing right in front of us)>>>>>>
LuceeClair Sep 29th 2012 1:13AM
I got "frisked" all because the stupid agent wouldn't "wand" my bracelet, which had a stuck clasp. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it upset me to have a woman handling MY body, when all they had to do was "wand" the article that obviously was causing a "bleep."
The agent was polite--even sympathetic--but it was ME who was handled by a strange lady...and then..GUESS WHAT? They wanded my F-ing bracelet...adn the "bleep" was validated.
Wow. Talk about feeling like an alien in your own skin...
I appreciate "security" and I support it...but there has to be a more professional way to do this thing.
OK. That's that :-)
Happy travels!

Get rid of the TSA. The entire department is a huge waste of money. Bombs, knives, and other weapons still get through the screenings, yet they pat down some 85 year old lady for no good reason. This agency is fxxked up and answers to no one. Time to be dismantled.
Chantal Sep 28th 2012 1:49PM
Why do you call these people "agents?" They have a plastic badge, for heaven's sake..
