I agree, Red's is overrated in terms of its lobster rolls and I don't stand in line for anything as long as people do there. However your landlord's theory about the traffic backup going into Wiscasset isn't just because of Reds. Think about it--Rt 1 traffic moving along at 55 mph and then you hit a narrow two lane going through a busy town center at 25 mph. Instant backup.
Miller's lobster rolls are great but a bit overpriced, as most are. And if you paid $6.50/lb for lobster you were robbed. We've been buying it in Bath all summer for $3.50 - 4.50, and those prices are holding.

Thanks for your comment, David.
Yes, there is the Route 1 bottleneck there at Wiscasset. The landlord did go on to mention that in his lengthy email but I left it out of the article for some brevity.
I just found it funny that so many others have to have a lobster roll in Wiscasset when the rolls are essentially the same (and essentially delicious) everywhere. Lobster roll prices are a rip off, too, and that's hilarious we were *still* paying too much for fresh lobster by the pound. Seemed like a bargain to us non-Mainers!
We absolutely loved your state and hope you'll have us back again sometime soon!
