What an odd thing to read. I'll be charitable and assume that the writer has never heard of Taxi Gourmet (taxigourmet.com), whose author Layne Mosler has made dining with taxi drivers into an art, and who has written about doing this all over the world. I met her in Buenos Aires, and commissioned her as a food writer there on a number of occasions, and she truly had the best food knowledge I came across there, taxi or no taxi. Her amazing path later took her from being a taxi gourmet to being a taxi driver, in NYC, where I think she now drives a cab.
Funny to think this author might blithely hop into Layne's cab one of these days, and ask to be taken for dinner. I wonder where she might take him …
More seriously, I think there's an issue with this material and its similarity to taxigourmet.com, whether that's happened knowingly or otherwise, and possibly one the editors might like to take a look at.
