Man Kicked Off Budget Airline For Wearing Baggy Pants
In recent airline news, a man was kicked off a Spirit Airlines' flight for wearing baggy pants with the top of his underwear showing.According to the Daily Mail, a flight attendant asked the passenger to pull up his pants, but he refused.
"It was to the point where his entire bottom was hanging out," said Spirit Airlines' spokeswoman Misty Pinson. "And that's not appropriate. We have a lot of customers on the plane, a lot of children on the plane."
According to Pinson, the man's pants were below his bottom, exposing his underwear but no skin. When he was confronted, the unidentified man apparently become aggressive, threatening to smack the flight attendants.
When law enforcement arrived, the man and his female companion were escorted off the plane with their belongings, and put on a later flight.
What are your thoughts on airlines enforcing dress codes?

Score one for decency!

It's about time someone spoke up, and there should be some kind of dress code, on any airline! You go Spirit!

Right on, no baggy pants, no flip flops, no skimpy attire, dress appropiately. Don't show your ass...lol no pun intended. Really, people don't take pride in their looks anymore.

Not just on planes. I don't know why these guys think this is so cool. It gives them a no class look and if stores as well had signs out that said, pants pulled down will not be tolerated, eventually it would change. Just about the time we think they have gone about as far as they can go, they find another way to be idiots.

Were they nice and clean undies? If a guy walked on with a bathing suit bottom he wouldn't be asked to leave, I don't see how this is any different if no skin was showing.

Why dont they show people shows from the series Pan Am on a U Tube clip when they book flights so they would get a clue? People would dress very nicely when they went on a plane back then. It was considered a classy thing to do. Now we have to look at someone saggy drawers hanging out? How gross.

When onboard a commercial flight, one MUST follow the instructions of the flight crew. Frankly, he should not have been accommodated on a later flight. If he did threaten to "smack" a crew member he should have been arrested.

good!

Fined? Hell, they should be arrested...

Good, I wish that fashion mess ends soon. I am so tire of seeing butt cracks and peoples underwear.
Sher Aug 6th 2012 8:47PM
I'm sick of it too. When I'm driving and I see grown men with their pants down, I want to stop my car and say please, pull up your dayum pants! You look like an idiot!

Fact: There is NO WHERE in the world where it is acceptable to have your underwear showing because the top of your pants are DELIBERATELY worn below the buttiocks. Until it becomes acceptable, anyone and everyone who wears their clothes in this manner is simply an ass. No pun intended. There is no choice but to have them removed, especially in an airplane where everyone is in cramped quarters. By simply being present dressed like that, they have already announced their intention to offend everyone else, and so automatically waive the courtesy of a warning. If it were up to me, a flight attendant should approach them and calmly order them off the aircraft. With ANY first word out of their mouth other than that of compliance, the attendant should be able to zap them with either a stun gun or perhaps a chemical spray that instantly renders them into the helpless idiot they are. By the way, thats how the morons wear their drawers in prison, to make an entirely disgusting statement.

I don't agree with you. Sadly it is acceptable to many in the USA. I admit that when I am walking behind someone with their drawers and crack showing that I want to run up, grab the pants and pull to the floor.

Let me guess: a plumber-in-training?
Sher Aug 6th 2012 8:44PM
Thanks, Spirit. When is this baggy pants trend going to go away?!?!?!
bill Aug 6th 2012 8:48PM
everybody should be fined for going.
Marty Aug 6th 2012 8:53PM
It is about time someone started enforcing it. When I was growing up walking around with your underwear showing was called indecent exposure and was against the law. They need to issue fines to everyone that wants to walk around like that.

The reason is: they're emulating their rap star idol. That dude dressed like that because he thought it was cool. And so his fans also want to dress like the way he did, also to be cool.
Grandpaw Aug 6th 2012 9:11PM
Can someone explain why any grownup wants to display his underwear?
Gunner Aug 6th 2012 10:03PM
Awhile back, men in prison would wear their pants pulled down half way to show the other "more male" prisoners that they were willing to have sex. How this became a style is far beyond my understanding.
