Great feat. Lake Michigan can be a dangerous body of water. Nothing was said about checking atmospheric conditions, other than noting they had enough wind. 58 miles is indeed a narrow crossing but still. Must have been lonely out there too, unless a chase boat was along for safety. In a storm on Lake Michigan, a 40 foot boat may not be safe enough. I wonder if he has life insurance an is covered for this activity.
