I have been wondering about the same thing for quite a while also.
It seems lately most of these sites have become even less accurate, especially here in ny. Surprising, considering technology everywhere else in improving.
For several weeks the predictions have been off, I use Yahoo Weather and Weather.com. Lately its been a little better, though i think it is due to them starting to use more vague predictions such it will be cloudy or partly cloudy the rest of the week. This means it could rain, sun might come out, or just overcast. go figure
