One of the best places to observe the night sky is from the Mt. Lemmon Sky Center in Tucson, Arizona, where visitors are able to look through a 32 inch (large) pro-level telescope, and get a guided tour of the sky by a professional astronomer/astrophotographer... a popular thing to do in when visiting Tucson. Geared for all ages 7 to 70 it's a treat! Check their website and schedule, and pick a nice night when the Moon is not too bright that way you can see the Moon for a while and then, head to the planets and the stars on your guided tour. We did this activity - and it was excellent, and I have great astronomy equipment myself. So, if your a novice, or a pro - there's fun for all!
