Hi Natalie - Yes, as Douglas says --- Nepenthe's is still there and as beautiful as ever. And, yes, I agree, you should try The Ventana Inn. Another place I enjoy is the Post Ranch Inn which is also in the Big Sur area. You can stop and have lunch / dinner there or make a reservation and stay the night, as you can also do at The Ventana Inn. And, one more place not to miss if you're looking for a place to stay in Carmel --- in the Carmel Highlands area, which is just as you come in from the South, up on the hillside is a place called the Tickle Pink Inn. Yes, I know, really strange name - but believe me, you will NOT be sorry if you stay here. Views - WOW .... Service - fantastic. You can google it - but it's even more beautiful in person. Enjoy every moment!
