it's all fun and games until someone gets killed......while sucking on a lollipop.

While I am not recommend to like the guys doing, however, I am not sympathy if they fall. The only thing I regret if they fall, how can their parents or relatives recognize them so they can make funeral for them..

Not really. Physics dictates that a falling object of a certain weight reaches a maximum speed. So whether its 300 feet or 10,000, these boys would look the same on impact

As stupid as that was, you have to aplaude their willingness to feel life differently than anyone else. Sometimes you have to take chances to experience that much more.

They're not on the bridge, they're on a construction crane attached to one of the bridge's main columns. Big difference.

Amazing, how boring life would be if we all walked in each others footsteps.
RC May 19th 2012 9:50AM
Even if they wanted to experience those heights, why walk on the outside edge of the crane boom? There is a catwalk down the middle. So upsetting to watch people take unnecessary risks.
Alex May 19th 2012 12:17PM
Those unnecessary risks are what makes every individual different from everyone else. I'm a power lineman, I work around voltages of 120v to 336kv everyday. Life in my opinion is all about risk, taking that next farthest step where no one else will go.

Upsetting,,Well maybe you should stay inside and keep the TV on the cartoon channel.. and let the people who know how to live,,have fun living..kitty - kitty

I understand Alex, but I'm sure you take the necessary precautions and take actions that are the most safe when working under the conditions that you work under. That was my point of the catwalk.....if you need to go out on the crane boom....then use the catwalk, that's what it's there for.....it is the safer alternative rather than walking on the edge.

thats f**king crazy.. i can honestly say i wouldn't do that..since i turned 50 my risks include eating salty foods, fried foods, priapism and over enjoying my liabation time!
Ed Pell May 19th 2012 7:11PM
Priapism, what's up with that?
4rensicguy May 19th 2012 7:12PM
I am with Alex the repair lineman, I do high rise facade inspections and the risk is what you make of it, you use your head...harnessed in or not, if the thermals rise up a building face and the swing moves off the building 6 feet or the wind picks up out of no where and blows the rig crazy,it adds another silver hair to my head but you keep your cool.
A micro burst of wind and one of those guys flew off, you would of seen that other guy in the walkway! Fast!
mini May 19th 2012 3:23PM
That was insane and awesome!
susan May 19th 2012 4:27PM
Obviously not scared of heights..
duane May 19th 2012 5:49PM
they had parachutes on in case no noticed
Ed Pell May 19th 2012 7:08PM
That's nothing, in the late sixties/early seventies these kids grandfathers had their fingers on buttons that would launch multiheaded thermonuclear warheads toward every major city in the western hemisphere several times over. Really scary stuff.
