I'm a big Craigslist fan too, though I still remember the days when a lot more people were wary of interacting with strangers online. But now that Craigslist has been around for a good while and so many of us have had good experiences, I think we're more willing to try sites where connections are made first online. One site I would add to the list: Tripping.com. It's the travel site where you can find local hosts a la CouchSurfing or rent all or part of a home a la Airbnb.
