What airlines fail to realize is that sometimes it is the small things that can make all the difference in the world. After suffering through a cavity search by the TSA, crowded flights, late flights, cramped seats, miserable service, sometimes the cookie is the only bright spot in the flight. Jack my ticket a dollar and give me my &^%$#@ cookie. Some of you may remember when Delta offered "Royal Service" on some of their Friday evening flights where decent meals, ice cream sundaes and fresh baked cookies were part of the treatment. I'd go out of my way to catch a royal flight back home on a Friday evening, just to avoid the same old-same old cattle car experience. Of course it was a victim of Delta cutbacks, but it made all the difference in the world as a passenger.
Airlines fail to realize that when you offer nothing different, or cheapen the flight as much as possible, there is no reason to build customer loyalty. Anyone try Virgin airlines? Awesome interior lighting, all leather seats, you can order eats anytime you are ready to eat, full entertainment centers, all in coach too, and their safety video should win an Oscar, hilarious. Hey Airlines...."Given choices, I'll go with the airlines that care to make the little things important!"

My father used to be an air traffic controller. He said for 50 cents more the FAA could add a solution to the fuel that would make it non flammable. But they chose not to do it.
THINK ABOUT THAT.

New Zealand Air was good like that too. I've noticed airline service goes way up soon as you leave America. I feel like planes are on the decline as a mode of travel, too expensive, terrible ride, no service. I will sit on a train for an extra few hours for a much better experience.
