Very interesting article, I didn't know that the Union Army had that many German immigrants. I know that my mom's ancestors had brothers that fought on both sides. The whole Northwest Arkansas area is full of history, Eureka Springs just east of Pea Ridge is the only town in the U.S. where the entire downtown district is designated as a historic district. One of the hotels is in Ripley's Believe It or Not because all 8 floors are at ground level. For more history on the area check out www.eureka--springs.com.
