People that say Cozumel is safe are not exactly correct...I stayed at Club Paradisus there...I drove all over the island during my week stay. Went to down town Garcia and had lobster...That was then (10 years ago)...We had to fly into Mexico City, then to Cancun before a short leg to Cozumel...That is the problem, the airport at Mexico City is as dangerous as any border town with the gangs preying on tourists....GOOD LUCK--- is the difference of being or nor being a fatality there...It is just not worth the risk...Its truly a shame and I don't see a fix very soon
