Photo of the Day: Paris bakery run

You might have been able to guess the location of today's Photo of the Day without a title. Advanced use of scarves? Check. Frou-frou dogs? Check. Delicious-looking loaf of bread? Mais oui, it is Paris. The French have a closer relationship to their bakers than most Americans can understand, picking up a fresh baguette daily. Even with the advent of baguette vending machines, you can be sure that the le pain quotidien (daily bread) remains a major part of French life.

How nice is that!? It took me back to 2007 when I went to Paris. I you haven't tasted the bakery-treats in Paris, you haven't lived! It is a total experience on it’s own that you can't explain. Your picture displays exactly what I remember from Paris. I would do anything to sit in Montmartre with a cup of coffee, a fresh baguette and just staring at the people.

The French don't shop for bread just once a day, they often shop more often than that. When my brother lived in Paris, he ran downstairs for bread 2-3 times a day. Now that's fresh bread.
