Well, she was just example of one personality from many living here in CZ. To be short, she was trying to use you. Usti nad Labem is northern, poor part of Czech Republic. In their eyes, you were the only thing which may help them raise their social rank (My child has married that pretty american). By maybe marrying you, she may get "rich".

Such people thinks that way. Postponing Christmass is bullshit, so they have been out of mind already. Are you sure that she wasn't gipsy?

Verry funny story, but pretty realistic. I had girfriend from that region some years back. I see that nothing has changed from that time. :-)
