In Boston, Massachusetts there is a monument in the corner of the public garden. Until you get close enough to read it, it’s unclear what it could possibly be for. It commemorates the first use of either as an anesthetic.
Also in Boston, along Charles street, heading toward Cambridge, there is a series of plaques that read like a time-line involving a group of patriots running encountering a squad of redcoats. EG: They first saw each other here; They fired at each other here; Their captain was struck by a bullet here; The captain was carried here, where he died.
