Video of the Day: Zipline Fail
When did ziplines become so prevalent? Somewhere along the way, we went from traveling to places to either relax or explore local cultures to careening through trees on a series of cables. When did this happen? Why are they so popular? Beyond that, I have a hard time believe that everyone staffing these ziplines knows what they are doing. I mean, are there accredited zipline certification programs? If there are, I'm certain that the folks in this video failed to pass the required courses.

These videos are rediculous, these are of people that the zipline did not fail they are messing around, no chest harness, home built ziplines...These people have not been educated on how to properly use a zipline. its all fun and games until someone gets truly hurt.
And yes there are companies that train and certify ziplines/canopy tours and the guides that take you on the tours.

When we were in Costa Rica and decided to go zip lining, during one of the runs, the cable from the tree slightly came undone (think: boinggoinnn....). We gasped at the sight. The company nonchalantly wrapped it back onto the tree and pretended as if nothing happened.
It's a good thing the guy above didn't break his neck!
It's a good thing we didn't die on our zip line 100ft above the ground!
