The disrepair as is evidenced in these images did not begin three years ago, or even ten, but has, instead, been an ongoing process for decades. Neither a politically partisan issue, nor a religious one, no amount of "us against them" scapegoating will slow the decline of buildings long left unattended.
This is America's "history" and "art" and we, as Americans, its stewards. Anger and fear are beneficial emotions ONLY if they point one towards positive action; in this instance, it would be to become involved in attending to these gems in one's own community.
