Mountain biker vs. antelope in South Africa
Mountain biker Evan van der Spuy earned a new nickname this weekend and it already has a trending hashtag on Twitter (#BUCKNORRIS).
Van der Spuy, a Team Jeep South Africa rider, was competing in the Time Freight MTB Express at Albert Falls Dam. Out of nowhere a red hartebeest decided to cross paths with Van der Spuy and Travis Walker, who captured the whole thing on a mounted GoPro.
So, next time you plan on riding your bike through a game reserve be sure to watch out for crossing antelope. Evan, we're glad that you're ok and... that the buck stopped there.

WOW You are the man!!!
Joliandra Oct 10th 2011 9:55PM
This is what POETIC JUSTICE looks like when we disturb wild critters' rights to peace & quiet~!!!
TOM Oct 10th 2011 10:09PM

That stupid ars deer or whatever the hell it was didn't know where the hell it was going itself...it wasn't an attack. It was a bad merge. Anyway... it looked like food to me.

You people are unbelievable. First you say there is no God and that we are all just animals that have climbed out out the primordial soup, then you say that this guy got what he deserved. Is he not just another animal enjoying hes surroundings. Or are you just a people hater. Of course I am just guessing that you are Godless.
TOM Oct 11th 2011 3:45PM
thats what you get!! for riding through the antelopes home. Humans may think the planet is ours but its not. We share it with every other living creature on this planet, equally.
neil Ross Oct 10th 2011 11:06PM
Yes, of course you are correct...we should close all national parks and then arrest people who go hiking through them illegally in violation of nationwide closures and bans because wild animals live there...I mean, after all, people can enjoy the National Parks by watching videos of them or by listening to stories of 'what it was like before we closed them all because wild animals live there'.......wow........
steve conner Oct 11th 2011 9:49AM
we can ride bikes where its legal mister. id love to take a ram from that ant. it would make for a fun story
Jerry Brown Oct 11th 2011 12:01AM
I hope they find an endangered spider in your house and throw you and your children out in the ditch, so you can share the planet equally. You are an idiot. Lets all hate ourselves to the point we all have to live in cardboard boxes because we don't want to disturb bambi, instead of using our intelligence to manage this world and provide for our enjoyment and comfort. Kill babies oh thats just fine, kill a puppy and oh my gosh lets put someone in jail. I'm so sick of you tree sucking fruit loops who hate your own race and forget, oh ya! we are intelligent and we can manage the forests and wildlife without having to kill each other and put each other in a mud hut!
kcjoe Oct 11th 2011 12:05AM
Your assumtion is the human rode thru the park with arrogance and malice to do harm to the animal....Kinda weird since humans came from the same place these animals live...Suddenly I'm more afraid of your twisted point of view than the animals.
TOM Oct 11th 2011 12:57AM
A) I don't think he was riding through the park to do harm to animals, he didn't
B) I couldn't give a shit about a puppy, kill it eat it, whatever
C) I'm saying we shouldn't be shocked, he was in that animals territory, and thats why it hit him
D) I don't hate my own race, I love it. I think we're miraculous. its astonishing how intelligent we are compared to other mammals. But we shouldn't let our fun ruin this planet. What i'm saying is I don't care about this biker, fuck him he can go bike or frolic wherever he wants.
E) This planet has provided for us for millions of years, it has an inherent system of stability and equilibrium that we have been disturbing since the industrial revolution. I believe in rising C02 levels harming the earth, if you don't I agree to disagree. However, what one can't argue is our pollution causing immediate degradation to the ecosystem. For example; the ocean, we need to stop destroying it. It's a major food source and there are increasingly more and more 'dead zones' (areas of the ocean where no life can sustain, even on the smallest level like plankton). If we don't stop destroying the ocean it will stop feeding us by 2050. Fact. Furthermore, Bee's are dying across the world due to diesel fumes from our cars, without bees means no more fruits and veggies. I in no way think humans need to go away or disappear, we just need to fine tune our way of living, quickly, so that the earth doesn't get damaged and we can live on it for eternity while ever expanding our knowledge, technology and ideas, but without killing the environment (which would mean eventually ourselves).
F) Environmental degradation and global warming is a national threat, seriously in D.C. it is. It's no joke
G) I'm not a tree hugging fruit loop. I'm probably way doper and talented than both of you. Your quick to talk and slow to think. I just don't want our planet to go down the shitter because I love it, It gave us life so we owe it a little respect.

You are a complete idiot. Why would you even waste the time to post that here? Now you've made me waste my time making this post just to tell you that you're a complete idiot.
What's the new term? Intellectually disabled? There ya go... The reason we have to use terms like that.
Glad the guy is ok... Aren't you Tom?
Kai Oct 11th 2011 9:04AM
You are way "doper" and talented? Talented in what? Making a fool of yourself?
A.) Good job on your reply to this one...humans are also animals. I hope you realize this.
B.) Eat a puppy? really?
C.) Just what is the "animals" territory and what is our territory? When you drive on the road and hit a squirrel, whos territory are you on? When you smack a mosquito on your arm, whos territory was it on? You basis for territory is unfounded and small minded.
D.) Do wild animals care about us when they are having fun? Also, you are part of the "fun" that ruins the planet. You drive a car, yes? You consume and cosume more food than your "doper" body needs, dont you? I imagine you smoke too...just a guess. McDonalds graces your lips once a week? Probably.
E.) Really? The planet has provided for "us" for millions of years? Wow...I didnt realize that humans were around that long....amazing! You cant predict the future, therefore a "fact" that the ocean will stop providing for us can not possibly be predicted. Yes, we are messing this planet up with over population, etc.....but its a little late to make a miraculous change at this point. You have kids? If so, you are part of the problem!
F.) I live 25 miles from DC....that place is the most hipocritical place in the US.....pretentious people everywhere.....ridiculous.
G.) You may not hug trees, but I guarantee that the next commercial I see for Fruit Loops will have Toucan Sam promoting its new flavor, YOU!
H.) Its just a crazy video about a biker and an antelope,,,its freaking cool....so why get all high and mighty with your diatribe.
I.) Go smoke some weed, maybe you really will become "doper"
David Oct 11th 2011 12:19PM
With that logic then.... When a coyote comes into my backyard (which happens quite a bit) I can just kill it because it does not belong on my property.
Julie Lantz Oct 10th 2011 10:09PM
Wow! Thank goodness the biker's okay. Once again proves though that when we humans travel into the territory of animals, some won't take too kindly and, well, this is what happens.
