Important to note that for some foreign airlines, you cannot drop a language qualification once you're registered as a speaker. The same other restrictions apply, except for the fact that it is way, way, WAY harder to swap trips, even with another speaker as they all seem to have very tight rosters.

Also, in some foreign airlines a Japanese speaker, for example, might be alllocated to routes that are not even Japan, where a lot of Japanese pax travel on that route.
