So, quick question. If the ILS was NOTAM'd out, what were you doing trying to fly the glideslope? If the LOC was still in service, but the glideslope was OTS, you could still fly a non-precision approach, but that's not what you described here. So which was it? Did you fly an ILS that was NOTAM'd OTS, which would be illegal; or were you wrong, and the ILS was in service, and this was not as dramatic as you make it out to be?
Having flown a few ILS and PAR approaches to minimums, that truly sucks. Were you just trying to make this seem adventurous?

There are two runways at San Juan.
The ILS to runway 10 was out of service and the runway lights to runway 8 were inop. Since it was daylight, we shot the ILS to 8 which was not out of service.
