Unfortunately, United Pilots will have to give up their "If it ain't Boeing, I'm not going" saying now that United has passed on the Boeing 747-8 series and purchased Airbus jumbos. I had a long talk with some seasoned flight attendants on a business trip to Australia and they were worried about flying the "scarebus" instead of the 747-8. I might have to switch to Air-New Zealand and their 777's. I try to fly Boeing whenever possible and have been almost exclusively since the 60's. I hope UAL changes their minds on this.

It has been an on going thing for a while Boeing vs. Airbus. My brother was first officer on a A330-300 for about a year and half, and was very happy they let him change to the 777. For him there were some things he liked about the Airbus but too many things that he didn't like.
His company had many emergencies on the Airbus regarding pitot and computer trouble. Dwayne
