My grandfather was a conductor on the NYCentral and worked on the Twentieth Century Limited. I'm sure this train went in and out of Buffalo, so it broke my heart to see the Buffalo station in such disrepair. So sad that 'we' don't take care of our treasured buildings like they do in Europe. If only those wonderful old buildings could talk. Please check out what has been done to the Worcester, Massachusetts RR station. It is now the city's transportation center, and the restoration is magnificent! Also, if you have been to Nashville, Union Station is a wonderful and beautiful place...hotel rooms, office space and a restaurant--right on the front steps (glassed in)!
