Win a Two-Night Trip to Texas with this Traveling the American Road Giveaway

As much as it pains me to write, my road trip across the country will soon come to a close. But it's not too late for you to get in on one of the many prizes I've been giving out along the way. To go out with a bang, I'm giving away a free trip for two to Texas, in partnership with Texas Tourism.
One winner will get a two-night trip for two to Wildcatter Ranch, set on 1,500 picturesque acres of North Texas hills, about 90 miles northwest of Fort Worth. You and a guest will enjoy two nights at the ranch, including breakfast and dinner in their award-winning steakhouse, your choice of a massage or facial, plus a variety of activities such as horseback riding, skeet shooting, archery and ATV tours. All you have to do is get yourself to Texas, and AOL and I will take care of the rest.
To enter, just leave a comment below telling us your favorite part of my Traveling the American Road trip. You've got until 11:59 p.m. on August 10 to leave your comment. After that, we'll randomly select a winner from the entries. Oh, and if you need to catch up on all my travels, you can do that at travelingtheamericanroad.com. You can also see the full terms and conditions of the contest here.
Good luck, future road trippers. If you want a head start on planning your trip to Texas you can grab a guide here.

I liked the Disney part because I have always wanted to go but never have actually had the chance.

My favorite part was the Atlantic City segment, since I watched it right before my trip going there! :)

The article about Folly Beach on 4th of July! I moved from SC back to Florida and miss the South already.

This series of road trip cities have been very informative, I am planning a trip presently and this also renewed memories of places I have already been and maybe need to revisit. I did see that you made a visit to my hometown, Chicago Illinois. But, I can't believe all you showed was the Ford plant and Wrigley Field. There are so many things to do and see not only in downtown Chicago but the surrounding areas and cities. The beaches, Navy Pier, architectural buildings, restaurants/food, Steppenwolf Theater, Ravinia and all the things Chicago is known for. Also, please let's not forget Springfield Illinois and the several American President's from Illinois.

Been years since I have been to Disneyland. To see what Disneyworld has become it is mind boggling

I especially liked the part of the trip where you camped out under the stars to get a view of the final space launch! Although I think all of your stops were great places and sounded like loads of fun!

Paul...I really enjoyed reading about your Summer on the road. Any time that my husband and I go to Ohio to visit family, we enjoy the sites as we travel but as you stated, people have to pay attention to the road. We see people constantly making mistakes because they're on a cell phone or we've seen ladies trying to put on their make up while driving. I never cease to be amazed!

Final Space Shuttle is the best

Shuttle Launch -- amazing to see.
Sarah Aug 4th 2011 11:21PM
The best part...meeting Paul and Stephen in San Angelo (Texas, of course!) ;)

Your post on South Of The Border (N/S Carolina border I-95) caught my eye....I've been there quite a few times and it makes me laugh at the sheer unadulterated camp of the place. I have to say the best part of that place is those interstate billboards with the horrid puns that start hundreds of miles both north and south of the place.
Love your whole roadtrip series; I've driven Seattle to Nashville, Virginia Beach to Portland, OR, Savannah to Philadelphia, Portland to San Diego via Reno, and Portland to Dallas. My next road trip is going to be on 2 wheels, not sure where to yet....but isn't that the best part? Nothing about being on the road ever gets old, and there's always cool stuff to see :)

Disney. My boyfriend and I don't have kids, and still love it.

Good Morning Road Tripper,
My favorite part of the Road Trip experience, is the fact that it was indeed a Road Trip! Growing up my Dad was in the Military and we traveled by road to each and every one of his Duty Stations. I have a great sense of what America is all about because of it. The people you meet, the customs and food of each area are different and exciting. In the fast pace of the world right now .. it's good to just sit back in your car seat and take it ALL in. I'm grateful that you documented your trip, and am hopeful that your readers will take a "Road Trip" themselves ... where ever the car may lead!! Thanks again for bringing America to the Americans who really don't know what it's all about.
P. S. If I win the trip to Texas ... I'll drive!! :)

I'm so glad you covered the Final Shuttle Launch and the Future of the Space Coast. What an important part of American history!!
Sherry Aug 5th 2011 11:08AM
I enjoyed reading about Washington DC. I drove in DC- it was the first time and the last!
Linda Libby Aug 5th 2011 5:22PM
Final Shuttle launch was my favorite since I've never saw one and will never, now. Also, the World Trade Center Timelapse, we will never forget!
Katie Aug 5th 2011 11:43AM
My favorite video was the time lapse of the World Trade Center construction. I've been living in NYC for over 6 years now and every time I go past there it seems like it's still a giant hole in the ground that isn't becoming anything. Your video helped remind me that although it's been slow, progress is happening everyday and that those working on the site are trying their darnedest to create a beautiful space in memory of what happened there.
