I second the Petzl Zipka for a cheaper, tiny light, perfect for throwing into a pocket or a pack.
One step up in brightness and comfort is the Princeton Tec Eos, which retails for around $30, is brighter than the Zipka, and has a very comfortable headband.
If you want something in the same brightness class as this L&M one, ZebraLight has a variety of headlights (I use a CR123 battery version, but they have AA as well for easy battery replacements) that are around 190 lumens on high for an hour, 40 lumens on medium for 12 hours, and low output for days; prices are around $60. Quality and ruggedness are also excellent.
