The research this article describes makes too many assumptions. Science never "proves" anything, it merely shows likelihood for or against, beyond a reasonable doubt. The reasonable doubt is directly related to the power of technology. To say something is impossible is bad science. There are lots of questions about light, energy and time that are unanswered and this research is only vaguely suggestive at best.
Light is a form of electromagnetic energy that supposedly includes photons. Radio waves are also a form of electromagnetic energy. Radio waves don't have photons, and can be focused by yagi antennas, and parabolic dishes. How do the scientists explain that? Furthermore, to a blind person visible light really does not matter at all. How fast does gravity travel? How fast does magnetism travel? How fast does thought travel? What is consciousness? Why do black holes bend light? What are black holes - exactly? How does photosynthesis work - exactly?
It is well that we do not have the technology to travel faster than the speed of light and to travel to other worlds or through time. Look what we have done - - and continue to do - to our world now in this time and space.
