Another AOL hype-line on a story. It's not really a 'tourist trap'. It's got lots of cheap souvenirs and the whole place is tacky personified, but it;s not like they're pretending to be anything but a roadside attraction with promotional signs stretching for hundreds of miles. They don't really rip you off. As someone said, it's a place to go once just to satisfy your curiosity.
Now that I think about it, AOL is slipping.
The headline should read: 'Has South of the Border gone too far this time?'
C'mon guys, we expect a certain journalistic standard. Zero.

What do you expect from the "new liberal AOL" now owned by huffington post? Too bad - I have been with AOL since its inception and just loved it. I read my news from Drudge and TheBlaze now.

I agree with you! AOL has slipped mightily ever since they let leftwing HuffPost take over. We no longer get news, we get propaganda. And we get stories by a bunch of underaged know-it-alls who in reality have little or no life experince. I'm sure this will not be permitted to be posted!!

I love it there! Where else can you see so much cheap tacky stuff in one place? I have pictures of my girls in the giant sombreros and next to the white shark statue, all over the place, really. C'mon, this article is a little too harsh - what's he expecting - Disney? When we travelled to Florida every year when I was growing up, we had a great time taking turns reading the signs and saying how many more miles it was until we reached SOTB. Great memories!
