I love how, as Sean describes in this article, hospitality exchange does not just involve a place to sleep - you can connect with locals to simply hang out. My last apartment was incredibly small, so I didn't have a lot of space to host travelers overnight, but I loved meeting them for dinner or drinks - though often it was both. :) I now also use a hospitality site called Tripping (https://www.tripping.com). Next weekend my roommate and I are meeting up with a solo female traveler, and we're taking her salsa dancing and to our favorite Cuban restaurant - a girls night out! We used to go out and dance all the time but have gotten too busy lately. Having a guest gives us the perfect reason to go out and have a little fun!
