Why are you defending baggage fees? These are nonsense charges designed to offset cost when fuel costs were through the roof, yet when fule costs declined these charges remained as a way to fatten the pockets of the airline executives. Argue all you want, but these fees are not necessary as proven by Southwest airlines no baggage fees policy. My opinion, and I am sure I am not alone on this, is that Southwest is the best airline for cost and customer service in the industry. If they can do it, with discounted flights, then why can't bohemoths like Delta do it?
Also, these men have sacrificed a great deal to defend our country. They may have lost friends, lost limbs, suffered a number of mentally challenging events, and are away from home and family while doing so... and they don't deserve some elite treatment? Blame the Army, blame the soldier, blame policies... no- blame the greed that has abundantly grown since the 1980's.
