Iranian aircraft crash caught on new video
The new footage gives some insight into what the final moments of any plane crash must be like, a dizzying array of motion, confusion and terror. It's enough to make one consider taking a long, quiet break from air travel.

Hmm, looked like the muslims were training him how to crash into a building, but they forgot to have him ejected from the plane. Oh, well.

As a former news editor, I agree - the reporting here is terrible. The aircraft that crashed is Iranian and part of the Caspian Airline fleet. The only military aircraft were the two in air fueling/being fueled, one of which captured the video. On board the Caspian flight were 168 people traveling from Tehran to Armenia. Most of the people on board were Armenian or Georgian. Also, this is not "new footage." New footage of a crash that happened two years ago is impossible. A new discovery of footage, or newly-released footage IS possible. The video is NOT new. http://youtu.be/MJTLC6Rjjq4
As for the idiots that are hoping a bunch of Muslims died and wondering why Americans should care 1) It is immoral to watch 168 people spiral and crash to the ground regardless of who they are. 2) Just because the plane is from a country that American's distrust does not mean that all the people are from that same country; 3) Muslims are not bad people - terrorists are bad people. Terrorists who claim to be Muslim but do not practice the laws of the Muslim religion have given an entire population a bad name. If you believe terrorists represent the Muslim community, then you must believe that Westboro Baptist Church is representative of ALL Christians.

Thank you Iris, for the first intellegent comments on this subject. I'm appalled at how quickly some people forget that bigotry in any form doesn't strengthen our nation but tears it down.

Well spoken!!!

very well stated.

Thanks for the responses - I will add, I mistakenly read someone else's post and concurred that it must be an airline plane that crashed. It was indeed Iranian Military with 7 personnel on board - regardless, the remainder of my comments are still relevant. I detest sweeping hatred - that is the same sort of thinking that guides terrorists. I agree with most of your post except that, if your read the Qu'ran, you will see that Muslim Terrorists can make legitimate claims to representing "true" Islam. The Muslim world, as a whole, has been reticent in condemning terrorism. You'd think they would be the first ones to be offended but, in fact, they really have a lot to gain from the imposition of Sharia while openly condemning terrorsim would make them even more of a target than us, since the Qu'ranic Law prescribes death as a punishment for apostates.
"Peaceful" Muslims are also providing good cover for terrorists, which brings us to the "nice" Iranians. Who cares? The current notion that we can wage war against just some people in a coutnry, and not others, is truly flawed because it leads to nothing but endless, unresovled fighting. Consider the assassination attmepts against Hitler. These were our "good" Germans, but not until the Allies proved themselves as viable competition would these "good" Germans act, and for obvious reasons. If Hitler's victims weren't serious about stopping him, why should any German consider treason? Trying to differentiate between citizens of another country relieves our friends of their responsibilties while it confuses our own.

When the vast majority of the membership of a religion sit quietly as the extreme members of their religion saw off the heads of infidels and attatch bombs to children and create "children programming" that extols jihad, I condemn the religion.
Check out the latest Muslim Brotherhood videos coming out of Egypt that encourage a bloodbath in Israel and the US. Check out the NAZI party that is gaining popularity in Egypt. Check out the almost daily stories of little girls being stoned to death because some horny uncle raped them but they do not have 3 male witnesses to the crime. Then you can tell me that this is a peaceful religion no different than Methodists or Mormons.

You are correct, all Muslims are not terrorists. About 80% of Muslims are radical extreemists with about 50% of them acting out as terrorists so that would come out to roughly 32.5% of the Musilms are actually extreem terrorists that act out in retaliation aganst others that are not of their religion.

Your comment is repgnabt and bigotted. It shows a real lack of depth and knowledge. There are MANY Iranians that support the US. As many of the Iranians, or that of many countries, they Hate our government policies, not the people. IO found this true going thru much Europe. Our gov't has supported many horrific dictators in the past. We supported Norriega in Panama until we didn't need him, captured him, then threw him in jail.
To claim all Iranians as bad is just sheer lunacy and foolish, and is as biggotted as they are. You are no better then them.

I'm surprised there aren't more comments. The video was strong; the unmarked F-4 being refueled was interesting, to say the least; the crash site was devastating. C'mon, let's hear from some real enthusiasts of compelling video. How about from someone who does not have a political agenda?

The TU-154 has an abysmal safety record prior to this crash.
Aircraft travel in the west is many times safer still than travel by automobile.
Luke Jun 4th 2011 1:35PM
Billy clearly looks like the rear stabelizer is gone Causing the terminal spin, the refueling plane is probably lucky it just made it past ,it hit the ground seconds after comming into the frame
patardugno Jun 4th 2011 1:48PM
Did he run out of fuel while waiting for the other plane to belly up to the fueling hose?! Why did he just drop out like that?
Vince Castillo Jun 4th 2011 1:51PM
Boy...is there too much hatred in this world? To think that the plane was full of terrorist waiting to kill all Americans is insane. As one grows smarter you will visualize different scenarios...like there could have been innocent women and children on that plane and many people with families and friends lost loved ones. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. God bless us all.
jejozi Jun 4th 2011 3:33PM
There's no hope for these idiots. As Mr. White said, "Ya can't fix stupid."
PJ Jun 4th 2011 2:19PM
From first hand experience I can tell you that their aircraft are just plain scary. They are unable to get parts for repairs and therefore the planes are extremely dangerous. Every time I have been on one I am petrified and have now refused to travel on them anymore.
The ignorance of some people is mind boggling. Wishing death on innocent civilians is just plain sick. FYI MOST Iranians support the US. 60% of the population is under 40 and due to the internet they are able to see how the West lives and that's what they want too. Did the demonstrations from 2 years ago show you nothing? Do some research before running your mouth and speaking about something you know NOTHING about.
MICHAEL Jun 4th 2011 2:15PM
Who the hell is still flying the F-4 Phantom? Talk about an outdated aircraft.
Tex Jun 4th 2011 2:22PM
You terrify easily.
ammoguy5 Jun 4th 2011 2:28PM
Why did the Iranian Navy invest in glass bottom boats?
So they could see their Air Force...LMAO!!!
