Morey's Piers plans a massive new wooden roller coaster

Morey's Piers is my favorite seaside amusement park as they already boast a fun wooden coaster in Great White and two steel looping roller coasters in the Great Nor'Easter and the Sea Serpent. I'll definitely be planning a trip back to Wildwood to check out the park and the new ride. NJ.com has more about Morey's Piers new roller coaster.

Last year, the world was made aware of Morey’s Piers’ newest attraction, the Ghost Ship. As the end result of a “Philadelphia Experiment” gone terribly wrong, the Ghost Ship took the Jersey Shore by storm, entertaining and terrifying hundreds of thousands of guests and gaining recognition as ‘Best New Theme Park Attraction for 2010’ in About.com Reader’s Choice Awards.

Not very impressive. How big can it be? In 1981 Marriott built the American Eagle, a double racing wooden roller coaster, in Gurnee, Illinois for $10 million at their Great America theme Park. THAT'S 30 YEARS AGO. Not really news.

I doubt if that coaster had an 80-degree first hill and speed of 90mph.

Moreys are crooks! If the IRS ever got ahold of their books, they'd all be in jail. They control the wildwoods and drive the prices up at motels there. Do you realize, in the height of the summer, for what you pay to go to a morey's motel and boardwalk, you pay more than a week at disney or a week in the caribbean?? Major rip off, Big fish in a little pond, plain and simple

10 million isn't that much for a new coaster these days. Theres a handful of coasters that cost $25 million.

Wood coasters are by FAR the best. Ride one of the ten best wood coasters in the country and you would agree...the problem is that none of the ten best wood coasters are at large theme parks, they are some great smaller parks. These wood coasters will most definitely change your opinion of wood coasters, and will truly scare you with their relentless speed and airtime! Also, by beach resort prices Morey's are much better and a pretty good bargain compared to other beach resorts in the nation. Morey's three piers are a real gem, a piece of Americana that is missing from most of the USA. If you live them, and don't appreciate what you have then you should try going to other boardwalks. Most are a shadow of what you find in Wildwood.

what are they going to do with the Great Nor' Easter??? The roller coaster is going in the place. That's one of the better rides on the pier.
