Food co-ops are a great thing and in the future could potentially make food cheaper for all (due to less shipping costs) - even though at the moment produce tends to be more expensive. People need to attune themselves to the concept of not being able to get every fruit and vegetable 12 months of the year. Most fruit and vegetables can be grown for long periods of the year quite often you get a different varieties such as getting Haas avacodoes for 3 months and then getting Reed avacodoes for the next 3 months. I would much rather do this than to continue getting poor quality produce from supermarkets that has been stored for months and transported thousands of miles because its cheap.
